Our Chili Party Legacy

In the 1970s, we attended an annual Halloween Party where this chili was always on the menu. Inspired by those gatherings, we adopted it for our annual New Year’s Eve celebration. Over the years, it has become a beloved staple for football season and winter get-togethers as well.

It cooks in a crockpot for six to eight hours. To keep our kitchen counters clean, we put a stoneware spoon rest on the counter for a quick stir during the day, a tumbler full of spoons and a stack of 2-cup soup bowls ready for serving.

We bake corn bread muffins to serve alongside the chili. The bread is offered with honey or plain butter from our handmade pottery lidded butter dish.  We warm a 9’ serving bowl in the oven (not too hot!) and line it with a cloth napkin or dishtowel to keep the corn muffins warm.

Then we sit back, savor our chili and share lively conversation, all while cheering on our favorite team. The warmth of the meal, combined with the camaraderie of friends and family, makes Fall evenings truly enjoyable.

Wherever you may be, we hope that holding a warm bowl of chili—especially in a handmade pottery bowl—brings you comfort and a sense of coziness, just as this cherished tradition does in our home.

Peace, love, and handmade pottery,

Barry & Terri Crutchfield

It all begins with an idea.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.

Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
